The 2022-23 Summer season has come to an end as we had 3 Pivot City teams push their way to the grand finals. Our under-12 Boys 1 put up a valiant fight against the Try Boys Bears, however, were unable to overcome them in a tight battle that saw them go down 22-33. While it wasn’t the final result the team was after we are still proud of their achievement to make the final and play for the gold!
Our under-16 Boys 2 also battled hard to make the final of their division to face the Tigers. Once again the team was pipped at the post going down 40-48 to claim the silver medal. We are proud of the teams’ achievement to make the grand final, and we are sure they will be back in contention during the Winter season.
Our lone grand final winners were our under-16 Championship Girls who pulled off a daring 1-point win 28-27. Having just 5 players available for the game, and finishing the game with 4 players due to foul trouble, the girls were able to hold on to snag the gold by the slimmest of margins.
‘The girls put on an outstanding display of gutsy team basketball and were spurred on by a vocal team of friends who came out to support their Pivot friends.’
This a fantastic result from our top-flight under 16 girls, we are all super proud of you for taking home the number one spot.
We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Easter break and look forward to seeing you all back on the court for the Winter 2023 season!
