Championship Men
Pivot City 81 – 75 Lara Giants
Our Championship Men have remained a perfect 13-0 after coming away with a 6-point win over the 2nd-placed Lara Men to secure the regular season title.
Jumping out of the gate early to secure a 10 point first quarter lead, the Pivot City Men, who were missing guards Cohen Blythe and Tyler Erard to injury, resorted to an inside scoring game as they recorded their lowest 3-point make haul for the season.
Knocking down just 7 shots from deep, it was the first game of the year in which their opponents outscored them from the 3 point line, with Jackson Bentley trying as best he could to knock of Pivot with 9 threes on the night.
Marach Marach was special in this one as he scored 33 points seemingly scoring from everywhere whenever he wanted.
The Max Duo of Kos and Zalakos combined for 37 to help with the bulk of the scoring that saw the Pivot Men stop a late Lara push and secure their 13th straight win.
The Men will look to collect another win as they head to the Geelong Arena for an early game against the Sharks.

Championship Women
Pivot City 52 – 52 Wildcats
Our Championship Women have escaped a narrow loss with some late-clock free throws from Ella Tofaeono to starve off the Wildcats and maintain their buffer of second on the Championship ladder.
The team this week was made up of both Pivot veterans and a young core who continues to do damage in their first season of the competition, as they battled fiercely with the Wildcats.
Taking a 1 point deficit into the first quarter break, the Pivot Women were able to hold steady with the Cats who were only able to increase their lead by 1 point through the first 20 minutes.
A low-scoring 3rd quarter saw the Pivot Women create a 3-point lead with 10 to play, with an crowd brewing it was anyone’s game on court 2 last night.
With just 10 seconds to go Pivot drew up a play for Ella who was subsequently sent to the free throw line, down 2 with just 3 seconds to play.
Calmly knocking down both free throws, the Women locked up on the final possession to escape with a draw on the night.
The team will enjoy the bye next week as both Ella and Eve look to push the NBL1 Women into the grand final of NBL1 South.
We wish the two of them the best of luck and hope to see you all down supporting the team on their quest for a championship!
