PIVOT TAKE GRANDFINAL GLORY
With Winter 2022 now done and dusted it is time to celebrate our teams who were able to take it all the way and claim the gold for their division while repping the Pivot City uniform! Shoutout to the below teams who claimed the pennant for this season.
PIVOT CITY PANTERS U12 BOYS D2
Finishing second on the ladder, the Boys locked in a date with top-of-the-table competitors CC Eagles and were looking to knock them off the top of their perch to claim Winter Gold. In a close match, the Boys were able to come out on top by 5, 37-32 to claim the win, congrats team on an awesome season!
PIVOT CITY RAIDERS U16 GIRLS D1
Also finishing second on the ladder, our Under 16 Girls D1 looked to knock off their top-of-the-table opponent also being CC Eagles. A tightly contested game saw the Girls lead by 4 at halftime before locking in for the final half of basketball, playing some stellar defence to get the win 29-23 and claim the Gold. Congratulations to the Girls on a great winning season!
PIVOT CITY U18 GIRLS CHAMP
Going undefeated all season with an 11-0 record, our Pivot Champ U18/20 Girls were looking to go one better and take home the Gold facing the 10-1 YMCA what possibly may have been a close match was absolutely blown out of the water by Pivot as they came home 62-10 winners, claiming the gold with ease. Congratulations team on an incredible season and finals win!
PIVOT CITY U18 BOYS CHAMP
Another undefeated run for our 18 Boys Champ who came into their finals matchup with Bobcats sporting a perfect record and looking to go one further. Pulling away for a 15 point lead at the break, the team turned on the jets for the final 20 and were able to grab the 22 point win to cap off their perfect season with a Gold medal. Congratulations to the team and goodluck as they enter the senior space for 2023!
PIVOT CITY CHAMPIONSHIP WOMEN
It was a fairytale ending for our Women as they came from behind in the final quarter against the surprising Wildcats to claim gold in the open Championship division. A 52-45 victory was rounded out by Eve Braslis and Raini Matthew’s 14 points a piece game to help lift the trophy for 2022! Congratulations to the team on a great win and we look forward to seeing them do it again in 2023!
That rounds out the Winter champs for 2022! We want to wish everyone a safe break over the School Holidays, we cannot wait to see you back on court for Summer 2023!
