Pivot City 115 – 88 SG Kings
It was a scoring explosion like no other in round 6 as our men maintained top spot on the ladder with a 115-88 victory over the SG Kings.
Starting off hot Max Kos poured in the team’s first 15 points as he couldn’t miss from deep. Heading into quarter time up 9, it was another high-scoring quarter as Kos continued to dial it in from deep to give Pivot a 20-point lead heading into the main break.
In what would be Jordan O’Leary’s final game with the club, the team was never going to tempt fate with a loss as they kept the Kings at bay through the 3rd quarter.
While the Kings tried with 10 minutes to go, it was all back to Kos who ended the game with a ridiculous 48 points including 9 threes.
Jason Reardon, Tyler Erard and Max Zalakos who was welcomed back into the team after an extended off-season all contributed with scoring in the high teens.
The Men will look to extend their win streak to 7 as they take on Vytis Knights in round 7 as they cracked the win column for the first time this season and will be surely hungry to add to their early season tally.
Pivot City 70 – 71 Sharks
It was a heartbreaking loss for our championship women as they went down by just 1 point to rivals and Sharks in a top-of-the-table clash.
While there are no quarter-by-quarter breakdowns for this game it was neck and neck throughout as Eve Braslis and Ella Tofaeono led the way in the battle with 28 and 15 respectively.
In what is sure to be an exciting series through the remainder of the season and a potential preview of a grand final matchup, we are sure the team will bounce back in round 7 where they take on last year’s finalists Wildcats in a very gettable game.
